Stages of replacing the steering column in a car service

1. Diagnosis of the problem.
2. Removing the old steering column involves removing the trim, fasteners and other elements that interfere with access to the steering column. After this, the mechanic disconnects the steering column from the steering mechanism and from the steering wheel.
3. Installing a new steering column. The new column is installed in place of the old one, attached to the steering mechanism and steering wheel.
4. After installing a new steering column, a mechanic checks the steering operation by turning the steering wheel.
5. All dismantled elements and casings are returned to their places.
